Kristin Laura Kreuk was born December 30th, 1982, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She is the daughter of Deanna (Chinese) and Peter Kreuk (Dutch). She attended the Eric Hamber High School where she did some stage work. But she wasn't serious about it going beyond that. Her original plans were to go to college to study forensics or marine biology.

That is until a casting call for the CBC series "Edgemont" was send to the school. The producers weren't able to find find the right girl to fit the part. But Kristin entered and got the role of Laurel Yeung, the new girl at the A.C. McKinley Secondary School.

After the first Season of Edgemont she was cast for the Hallmark movie "Snow White". In the same year she auditioned for the part of Lana Lang in the new Warner Bros. television series "Smallville". Today she can still be seen on television every week as a young Clark Kent goes on a journey to become Superman.

The success of the show has opened up new oppotunities for Kristin. In 2003 she became a spokesperson for Netrogena and was featured in several tv spots since then. She also made an appearance in several shows like Conan O'Brien, Regis & Kelly and MTV's TRL.

Her most recent project is the movie "Partition". And epic love story where she stars alongside Jimi Mistry and Neve Campbell. The movie's release is set in February 2007. Hopefully this won't be the last project we have seen of her and that decides to take on more roles when Smallville is over.
